Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU.

Last Saturday’s gathering was fast and fun. Lost of very cool tools for authors to use both online and in building their infrastructure. My favorite geek girl, Kelly Johnson dazzled the packed room with plenty of takeaways (I love PhotoFunia and forget about it) and discovering One Time Secret—you get to discover them in the Gizmos and Gadgets below as well.
For me, Mondays always start with three blogs to write; podcasts to create; and just general planning. I added one more chapter I didn’t know I was going to in my new book. And finally, let it all go. It goes to editing this week.

I’m already missing the ship for the Publishing at Sea cruise of just two weeks ago. One of my favorite spots in Central Park—a schmoozing, hangout place surrounded by small restaurants and cafes. The perfect place to end the day and listen to live music.

Questions of the Week:


Question: Should I buy the domain that is my book title?

Answer: It depends. If you do it, just get the dot com. Usually, I say yes—but often, the title isn’t available. You could get a variable: MyBookTitleBOOK.com to get around it—add the word "book" after the title and mostly likely, you are good to go. The reality is that most people will search for the author’s name … go to Amazon or BN online or to their favorite bookstore. Rarely to a title website. Afterall, you—the author—should be the main brand. With that said, if you do buy the title dot com, redirect it to your main website. That way, you cover all your bases.
