This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s Roof
Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU … and
It’s been a busy week in Authorville. Client Mike Howard took center stage with his Amazon Bestseller campaign – 5,000 downloads, multiple #1s in categories, and #1 in 7 countries for his action thriller, Full Circle, the first book in the Jack Trench series. The stage is now set for the formal launch at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas in July.

More kudos and a Happy Dance...the International Book Awards were announced over the weekend. I’m thrilled to share that two of my books picked up Finalists in their categories. In all book descriptions, I can add award-winning and bestselling. Nice way to start the second half of the year.

The Author’s Walk was honored to receive two awards. One for both books.

Writing/Publishing and the other for Best Nonfiction Cover. A woot to Rebecca Finkel for the cover design on

The Secret Journey written with my writing partner Brian Barnes was pleased with winning a Finalist award in Historical Fiction and Women’s Fiction.

Ninja Book Marketing to Discover the Force within YOU!
Wednesday, July 5

Contrary to what many authors believe, writing the book is only 10% of publishing … it’s the 90% marketing that will make or break book success. Gone are the days of national book signing tours where an author travels from city to city to meet fans and be featured on TV, radio, and in print.

Today, most authors are homebound with their favorite cup of coffee or tea and the constant laptop companion for their book marketing. Podcasts are added to the promo mix.

To the surprise of a traditionally published author and the bewilderment of the self and indie author, it’s up to the author to oversee all marketing and publicity. Whether you are traditional or indie, it’s the author who is responsible for most of the book marketing. That means you. You need to think of your book as a product that you are bringing to the market. The knowledge, tools, tips, and techniques delivered here will impact every decision you make along the way.

Hop on board and get registered. Replays will be sent to those who are.

Question of the Week ... What are recommended books for writing?

Answer: There are several. For writing, in your personal resource library Stephen King’s On Writing. Add in William Zinnser’s On Writing Well, Strunk & White’s The Elements of Style, Anne Lammot’s Bird by Bir, Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi ‘s Thesaurus series, Ray Bradbury Zen in the Art of Writing, Les Edgerton Hooked, Mystery Writers of America How to Write a Mystery, And I would add my new book, The Author’s Walk. Then there are a boatload of “genre” guides. Suggest you Google yours with the adjective “essential” in it, or Top 5 books for (fill in the blank...).Good luck!

This is called a “consult” and I would be delighted to schedule time with you for “just you and your many questions” that need answers. You can book time with me it at: http://bit.ly/JudithCoaching
