This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s Roof
Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU …
This past weekend was a but if a “loaf” for me—some sun, a little pool time, devoured Street Boys by Lorenzo Carcaterra, shopping and adding to my glass pumpkin collection, trying out fave restaurants with three friends in Arizona, lots of catch-up chatter plus writing a few book covers, a blog, finalizing segments of the January cruise and holding the AuthorYOU Salon on Saturday. A quasi-time-away. Checking in with John a few times a day … it was good thing.

Those of you who registered for the 60 Tips in 90 Minutes AuthorYou October program have been sent the replay via WeTransfer. You have a few days to download it—search your email and get your copy. It was an excellent short morning—even our pros revealed they were learning things!

Are YOU ...
ready for  book marketing & social media kick butt success?
Early Bird Ends October 1st.
Most authors rarely respond with a YES when asked: Did you start marketing your book when you began writing it? And it means a commitment to marketing your book. And to untangling the confusion of social media?
Who do you call to untangle it all?

Judith Briles … that’s who you call.

· Do you want use social media where it works for you and your book?
· Do you want to have a defined plan that you understand?
· Do you want one that you can implement without needing a PhD?

If that is you, then how much time are you spending working on a marketing solution? What about social media and using it within your marketing strategies. What are you investing in your time, energy, and money to learn and create a plan that works? Savvy authors have learned that you cannot solve your marketing problem the next day by simply repeating what you did yesterday, last week, last month … or certainly, last year. That’s author insanity.

SOLUTION: Spend a day with me in October. Attend and participate in the ONLINE Dr. Judith Briles Book Marketing & Social Media Unplugged. Successful authors believe and practice my motto: if my author success is to be … it’s up to me. It’s the Author Success model.

Sound like a plan? Details are on the Experience tab on my website.

5 Autumn Author Tea

It’s that time of the year for many of my favorite people: Authors!

If that’s YOU, my question is: are you interested in being featured at my annual Author’s Tea slated for Saturday afternoon, October 29th that will be in my home.
The Annual Authors’ Fall Holiday Tea will be held on:
Saturday, October 29   from 1 – 4 pm

I will be hosting the gathering in my home within the Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club in Aurora, Colorado. Think of this as a book marketing coop. The catch is that you MUST bring guests. No exceptions. I bring at least 40. You need to invite and bring guests as well. It won’t work unless you do. It doesn’t matter what your friends/family already own your book—but they don’t know about other local authors. Friends are cheerleaders for you and your books to those they meet when at the schmooze fest ... and believe me, it is.

YOUR cost is two-fold:

· $25 now to be included—you can send a check or call me and pay by credit card. This will cover the cost of food and beverage for attendees—think High Tea, which mean sweets and sandwiches along with teas—sometimes we do cranmosas as well. AND I have several cases of books that I’m going to toss in as gifts to all who buy books during the event—some are mine; and some are titles donated by other authors.

· INVITE & BRING people. This is a marketing coop … you need to get people there. It’s a MUST … not a “coast” … Let your fans and friends know NOW to HOLD THE DATE. I will be posting the event on the AuthorU.org site, two Meetup Groups and sent out invites via evite.com to 300 personal contacts.

What you need to do now … let me know now that you are IN   email me TODAY at Judith@briles.com and in the subject line: OCT author tea  there are only 20 slots … is one yours?

Question of the Week

Question: Somethings I get stuck with my writing. What would you suggest to for getting unstucked?

Answer: Always start with the WHO. The WHO is WHO you are writing and publishing for. What is their pain? Your words will ease, soothe, and relieve it. Now write. The WHO is WHO needs and wants your book. What is their pain? Your words, your book, will ease, soothe, and relieve it. Now, market your book to the WHO.
