9 Book Shepherd “Fun” of the Week … Wake-up cat time

This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s Roof
Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU …

This is a huge week for me, coming off a busy weekend.

TODAY is the LAST DAY to get into Book Publishing Unplugged slated for Saturday. It’s a combo Online and In-Person event.
All my Unplugged dates are up on TheBookShepherd.com site under Experiences. Book Publishing (June 25) and Book Marketing/Social Medi (October) are both online and in-person in a combo format. Speaking (16) In-person includes breakfast and lunch. At print now for the Book Publishing workbook.

The busy weekend included all day Saturday at the fabulous Barnes & Noble store on Colorado Blvd in the Metro Denver area. Eleven AuthorYou members shared their Saturday meeting and greeted fans and new friends. Love our celebrity authors who had fun with the stores' customers. Lots of books were sold and BN will donate a percentage of sales within the store to the Aspiring Authors Scholarships that will be awarded in September.

Next up is the excellent BN store in Southlands on July 2, followed by the Lone Tree store on August 6.

Sunday, I did an airport run that returned Rox Burkey, co-author of the Enigma series books to her home base in Dallas, then slipped away for a relaxing facial, then worked with a client for two hours.

Loved it that two books for clients went to layout last week, another will finish up this week and go to print. Plus two more will go to print this week.

Breathe … I’m hoping for no unexpected happenings. That would be a good thing.
Onward …

NOTE … The July Amazon Bestseller program is sold out. For the SEPTEMBER session, details are below and on the Experiences tab on TheBookShepherd.com. Discover AnyVoo … Webcam Backgrounds
Do you revolt when you see some of the virtual backgrounds that are the norm for many on the online presentations? Me too—especially the ones that fade in and out; cut off hair and faces if the speaker moves their face just a tad; and of course, the ones that are clearly unprofessional—as in bedrooms with unmade made or rooms in disarray. It’s time to discover AnyVoo.
Thinking marketing forward every time you are on an online video anything. You can create a customizable fabric background that stretches over a frame that you then attach to a stand (meaning it’s portable) or hang from the wall behind you. It’s reversible, so you have two background options. Think of your logo, tagline, and even your book covers. Under $250. Kinda cool. https://AnyVoo.com

Question of the Week

Question: How do I do a book signing at a bookstore?

Answer: Simply this: ASK. Call and/or visit a bookstore—any bookstore. ASK who is the person who would coordinate author events. Connect with him or her. Have your pitch ready. Have info that is short, concise, clear—ideally, a book one-sheet. Let them know you will do a press release to alert those in the community to COME to the store. That you will promote the event. And ASK.

You can pick my brain … minimum time is 30 minutes. If you need one-on-one-time with me, I’m always open for a few minutes to give you some quick input. But, and it’s a BIG BUT, many call and expect far more than a few minutes.

This is called a “consult” and I would be delighted to schedule time with you for “just you and your many questions” that need answers. You can book time with me it at: http://bit.ly/JudithCoaching

Author Friendly Friday this week …

Join Author Friendly Fridays: a fun, sharing and a dynamic closed group. You can join in the next week. It’s a full hour when you can ask questions—any question. And, I always include a few strategies to get your authoring life ahead of the competition.

It’s for paid subscribers ONLY and we do it on Zoom.

This is how each call starts: I share a few strategies, tips and tools that attendees can immediately start to use. All share … and ask plenty of questions. They get answers. Definitely an excellent way to start a Friday. Those of you who aren’t participating, you are making a mistake. I love the variety of books and authors who have chosen to participate. What’s also fun, is the energy that can be felt with what everyone is working on. Love it!
