This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s Roof

Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU …
Three huge endeavors are unfolding this month under my roof. Two personal, the other all business.

The first is my outdoor living, and sometimes working, space. At last … the unexpected total back deck makeover is done with the rails of the stairs into the lower yard up. I tossed in the fighting the hail damage that hits the deck and the rails and subbed in new flooring—not planned on but after a close inspection, all the jousts were rotted along with the original faux trex detiorating. In its place is all new everywhere including the rails that are now Weatherables vinyl. Liking the thought that I’m not stripping and re-staining every year.

The second is the planning of the makeover for website. Lots of meetings. Exploring what I want, and don’t want. Revisiting my colors—yes, I still love them. Renaming tabs—oh my … Experiences and Epic Vision will debut! It’s a huge amount of work, but in full play and will be completed by the end of November.

And, the third. My second ankle surgery is slated before the end of the month. I am so, so, SO ready for this unexpected adventure and unexpected complications to exit my calendar. Officially, I’m in shelter lockdown with the exception of medical-related activities until I’m through that all, final stage that started in early June.

Definitely looking forward to the free WORD POWER webinar with Casey Demchak on October 22 and then his intensive workshops in November. If you want to sell more books—and look like an expert—get signed up for these pronto. All on the website.

Questions of the Week:

Question: How do I keep track of my bookkeeping for my book sales?

Answer: You can always use the “old-fashioned” with a notebook or simple Excel spread sheet … BUT, it’s a tad out of date. In my offices, we use Quickbooks for most of our needs—from invoicing for bulk sales; updating inventories; connecting our bank accounts; processing credit cards; creating P&Ls and much more. You have the ability to talk to a live bookkeeper and even discover freelancers who are QB experts.
