This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s Roof
Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU … and
Spring is in the air—I see the tease of buds to come; a few daffodil shoots are coming up in groups; green stalks are emerging on border shrubs; snow has finally melted; and last Sunday pulling me out to my back deck where I uncovered a chair and settled into it as the sun shared its warming rays. Of course, I’m in Colorado—meaning that more snow is sure to drop in before its booted away.

Tomorrow ... Tomorrow (through Saturday), my new book, The Author’s Walk-Finding and Using Your Voice to Create Publishing Success, is a freebie eBook on Kindle. My suggestion—get the free eBook and get ready to ooh and ahh the beautiful the eBook designer Rebecca Finkle created. AND ... purchase the print. This is the “reference book” you will revisit many times. It’s a different book for me ... not the usual “how to” when dealing with publishing and speaking positioning. It’s the reality check. The armchair encourager. For the writer putting the toe in the possibility of writing a book—or the author who needs to be recharged. The book that readers are telling me, “If only I had this when I first started writing.” Grab your copy ... It’s up on Amazon: https://bit.ly/AuthorsWalk

April promises to be a packed month of author and publishing opportunities.

I’m ready for two Book Marketing Unplugged sessions next month. Registration is open for both online and in-person sessions are open for registration. Remember, I limit the number of participants. Plus, the Amazon Bestseller Campaign workshop, plus several more options for your author success.

Question of the Week ... Which part of book marketing works?

Answer: :  Whatever you do, it will be between 40 and 50 percent. The problem is, few know which will work and which won’t. So … the one guarantee that I can give you is: speaking sells truckloads of books. Start speaking. Learn how to engage and connect with your audiences. Become a storyteller—presentations that are woven with stories—real stories—not jokes that have been repeated a gazillion times. Dig into your past; your childhood; your family; your workplace experiences; something that you observed; news in the media that connects with your topic … you name it, STORIES are everywhere. They enrich every presentation you make.

Funny of the Week Love it when I find a fun shorty—a quick smile, a laugh out loud, a learn something new, and a sip of tea … and back to work—perfect. A school in Illinois fills its vending machines with books—how cool is that? You can pick my brain … minimum time is 30 minutes. If you need one-on-one-time with me, I’m always open for a few minutes to give you some quick input. But, and it’s a BIG BUT, many call and expect far more than a few minutes.

This is called a “consult” and I would be delighted to schedule time with you for “just you and your many questions” that need answers. You can book time with me it at: http://bit.ly/JudithCoaching

Author Friendly Friday this week …

Join Author Friendly Fridays: a fun, sharing and a dynamic closed group. You can join in the next week. It’s a full hour when you can ask questions—any question. And, I always include a few strategies to get your authoring life ahead of the competition.

It’s for paid subscribers ONLY and we do it on Zoom.

This is how each call starts: I share a few strategies, tips and tools that attendees can immediately start to use. All share … and ask plenty of questions. They get answers. Definitely an excellent way to start a Friday. Those of you who aren’t participating, you are making a mistake. I love the variety of books and authors who have chosen to participate. What’s also fun, is the energy that can be felt with what everyone is working on. Love it!
