This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s Roof
Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU …
One of my ongoing personal goals is to help authors avoid the myriad of mishaps and mistakes that easily slip into the author’s walk. Often unexpectantly. One of the modules at the upcoming Book Publishing Unplugged this month will be identifying those blunders that can sink an author’s success and strategies to avoid them coupled with solutions on how to solve them when encountered. The registration window will close sometime today.

Last Saturday’s Firehose Book Marketing marathon promised a lot and delivered more. Just shy of three hours, I had the opportunity to reveal Amazon’s A+ window for enhancing an author’s influence and marketing on Amazon. Today, the recording with be available to only those who registered beforehand.

And this Saturday’s Author Salons are scheduled. Remember, there must be a minimum of five participants outside of me if they are green-lighted to happen by Friday noon. Info is below … you need to be registered to attend.

Next week, the submissions for the Aspiring Authors Scholarships will move to the Panel that will start the evaluation process. I’m thrilled with the variety of applicants.

There is one spot open for the July Amazon Bestseller program. Details below and on the Experiences tab on

Question of the Week

Question: What is a book imprint?

Answer: Simply this: it’s the name of your company. It will be on your copyright page, listed when your register for your LOC and ISBNs, and known to booksellers. Have a logo created and add it to the copyright page; to the spine of your book, and even on your title page.

Your imprint is part of your branding. Not your name or of your company. Come up with a word or words that sound like it could be a publishing company. Add “Books”, “Press”, or “Publishing” after it. How does it sound? This becomes part of our business front.
