This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s Roof:

Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU.

Oh my … another, very heavy "spring" snow arrived in Colorado this past week—and what a doozy. My trees kissed the ground, the old timers had major branches snapped—not a good day when I surveyed the damage the night hours delivered. Sigh … and onward. Get the saw out, clean them out, and now everything crossed—no more!

Tonight finds me meeting with the board of the Colorado Authors’ Hall of Fame and deciding "who" will be inducted into the first gathering of the Hall—exciting. Thanks to all who submitted nominations. This is an event that will happen every two years.

AND … my latest book arrived on my doorstep—a pallet to me and another to the warehouse in Indiana. Books will be in Amazon before weekend AND next week, we start the soft rollout. The eBook will be on the sale starting Memorial Day at 99 cents, then increase each day by a $1 until it hits the regular price of $8.99. Grab yours—but, the print book is the one that will get re-read. One that will inspire, show that there is light at the end of the dark tunnels we all go through. It’s my life: When God Says NO—Revealing the YES When Adversity and Loss Are Present.

Memorial Day should be every day—We are coming into the long Memorial Day weekend. Here’s an idea on how to share books & eBooks to support our military overseas—please keep this website and resource in mind:

June 21-22, 2019

Over 80% of Americans think they want to write a book. Is that you? Do you know the "why" of why your book should be available to others? And, do you need to learn the basics of publishing, what it takes to turn your vision, your words, into a print book?

Designed in an all-day workshop guided by Judith, Publishing 101 Workshop for Newbies is for those who think they want to write a book; who want to write a book; are currently working on a book; and want to discover the publishing options that are viable today. It’s the first step … a baby step, but a huge one. This is not my Unplugged event.

The Publishing 101 Workshop for Newbies has been created for you if these questions are in your space and you are feeling lost in the forest of authoring and publishing: Should I publish? How do I get started? What do I do? Which way should I go? Help!
It’s time to get found.

Come network with other authors to be and get direction and guidance from The Book Shepherd to start your publishing journey.

Questions of the Week:

Question: Why is selling so hard?

Answer: Where do I start … I know! Because there is that inherit fear that whoever you are pitching to … do "your ask" will reject you. Okay, that’s the truth—the ugly rejection word. Don’t go down that path. Instead, think this: don’t think you are selling anything. What you want … need … is to know what the individual WANTS. It may not be what you have to offer. Then just listen, support, offer encouragement, maybe an idea or two. Is selling, it’s not about what you think the other person needs … it’s about what he or she wants. Listen and go from there.
