This Week Under The Book Shepherd’s ® Roof

Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU …

Typically, the last week of September is Banned Book Week. Not this year. October 4 – 10 are the designated days. Most bookstores have a banned book section. Visit and add at least one to your “I’m buying this” list. October is also Breast Cancer Awarness month. I love what author Deb Armstrong is doing. She’s linked a special month with special days: breast cancer with banned books woven with reading and raising money! Her goal: support an October Reading Challenge to help fight breast cancer, one book at a time. I’m all for it and have claimed my book and made a donation. Let’s support an important cause and Deb.

I’m looking forward to Saturday’s roll out for my Appetizers with Judith book. Barnes & Noble Colorado Blvd will by my place of choice this Saturday.   This will be the first time I sign my latest book, Appetizers with Judith. Lollipops will be included on my book table for book buyers to have. Nope … this time I brought my Zesty Date appetizer in a toothpick version for book buyers in the store to enjoy … and enjoy they did—two platter full and 43 book sales later.

My book selling buddy during the day will be Joseph Caldara with his middle school walrus super hero series.  It will be a good day.

Do you know about the Sweet Sapphire grapes that are great fun to have in the Autumn? Marketed in the U.S. as Moon Drops … that are often called “witches fingers” and “grape fingers”… what they are ARE DELICIOUS. The jucious grapes ever. I get mine at my Middle Eastern market, Arash—also all my dates and apricots.

The October 10th and November 21st Author Gathering Zoom meetings are ready for registration. Details below.

Heads up for anyone who is interested in the November Amazon Bestseller workshops. The next series will be available in November, starting on the 4th.

Details are on TheBookShepherd.com website under Events. Space is always limited so that I can do one-on-one coaching as well as group within each session. Over four weeks, you will be ready to set up your Amazon Bestseller campaign and claim it for your marketing forward. Strongly encourage you to get registered for the November round … that is if you want an Amazon Bestseller … and block the four Wednesday afternoons from 4-5:30 pm MT to work with me.

Here in Colorado, I’m setting up local author book signings with Barnes & Noble Book Fairs for fall. Add them to your calendar to do a “drop in” and support the many AuthorU members who dedicate their time to support the Aspiring Author Scholarships. These are all day events. Saturdays from 9 to 5; and Sundays from 10 to 5.

October 25  BN Southlands

November 7 BN Ft Collins

November 14 BN Colorado Blvd

November 15 BN DenverWest- Lakewood

I will be doing signings and tastings solos in several of the BN stores for my new book Appetizers with Judith:

Dec 13-Denver West … definitely should feed into holiday shopping!

My Answer: Why wouldn’t it be? There are plenty of print and online resources for you to approach. Start local ... start on Google. Don’t miss out on newspapers and print. Research https://USNPL.com  United States Newspaper Listing.

8. Smile of the Week

Love it when I find a fun shorty—a quick smile, a laugh out loud, a learn something new, and a sip of tea … and back to work—perfect. Smile time.

I loved the many faces and performances of Dame Maggie Smith. Thank heavens there is much film to revisit her over and over. Here she is with Carol Burnett: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT1YfqZeUb0
